AP Chemistry tutoring that gets you to a 4 or 5.

AP Chemistry is the class students most often tell us they are drowning in. A tutor who knows all nine units, and how the free response section is actually graded, changes that quickly.

What AP Chemistry tutoring looks like with us

AP Chemistry moves fast. Most schools cover nine units by late April, and the exam rewards students who can explain why something happens, not just calculate it. That is where most students lose points: their math is right but their justification is missing the one phrase the rubric is looking for.

Your Tutorqi tutor works from your teacher's pacing, so sessions line up with this week's homework and next week's test. Closer to May, we switch to full timed free response sets scored line by line against College Board rubrics.

From our tutors

Where students lose points in AP Chemistry

Justifications that miss the point

Saying "because of intermolecular forces" earns nothing. The rubric wants which force, between which particles, and why it is stronger. We drill the exact wording until it is automatic.

Acids and bases as one big blur

Strong acid, weak acid, buffer, and titration problems all look alike under time pressure. Students learn to sort a problem into its type in the first ten seconds.

Equilibrium vs kinetics

Rate tells you how fast, K tells you how far. Mixing them up costs points on almost every exam. We separate the two ideas early and keep them separate.

Lab based questions

Every free response section includes experimental design and data analysis. Many students never practiced writing about error sources or graphs. We do it every week.

Our sessions

What a typical session looks like

  1. First 5 min

Check in on class: what was taught this week, what is due, and when the next test is.

  2. Main block

Work through the topic that matters most right now, using your actual homework or class problems.

  3. Practice

Exam style questions on the same topic, scored the way AP readers score them.

  4. Last 5 min

A short plan for the week, and the topic for this week's worksheet.

  5. After

Our support team sends the worksheet, marks it, and returns a written score report and a retest on the weak spots. Parents get a copy.

Questions

AP Chemistry tutoring FAQ

Can you help if my teacher is ahead of or behind the textbook?
Yes. Your tutor follows your class pacing, not a fixed curriculum. Bring your homework, notes, or unit test dates to the first session and we build the plan around them.
When should we start AP Chemistry tutoring?
Ideally by the end of Unit 2. Students who start in October usually never fall behind. Students who start in March can still gain a full score band with focused free response work, but it takes more sessions per week.
Do you use real AP free response questions?
Yes. College Board publishes past free response questions and scoring guidelines, and we use them so students see exactly how points are awarded.
Is this also good for IB or college General Chemistry?
The content overlaps heavily with first semester college General Chemistry and IB Chemistry SL. Tell us your course when you book and we will match you with a tutor who has taught it.
How much does AP Chemistry tutoring cost?
It depends on how many sessions per week you choose. It starts with a free 30 minute trial session, and we share pricing with you before you commit to anything. Weekly worksheets, score reports, and retests are included, not extra.
