AP Calculus BC: same exam, twice the speed.
BC covers a full year of college calculus. Students who do well in it usually are not smarter than everyone else. They just never let a topic slide, especially series.

What AP Calculus BC tutoring looks like with us
AP Calculus BC includes all of AB plus parametric equations, polar coordinates, vector valued functions, and infinite series. Many schools teach it in one year, which leaves very little time to recover if a unit goes badly.
Your tutor keeps you on top of every unit as it is taught. Series gets special attention because it carries the most weight among the BC only topics and feels very different from the rest of calculus.

How the AP Calculus BC exam is built
| Section | Questions | Time | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Section I, Part A | 30 multiple choice, no calculator | 60 min | 50% for all of Section I |
| Section I, Part B | 15 multiple choice, calculator | 45 min | |
| Section II, Part A | 2 free response, calculator | 30 min | 50% for all of Section II |
| Section II, Part B | 4 free response, no calculator | 60 min |
BC students also receive an AB subscore. Hybrid digital, with free response handwritten. A graphing calculator is required for the calculator parts.
Where students lose points in AP Calculus BC
Choosing a convergence test
There are many tests and students try them at random. We teach a decision order so you know which to try first.
Taylor polynomials and error
Lagrange and alternating series error bounds appear almost every year. We make the setup automatic.
Polar area
Finding the right bounds is the hard part. Sketching first solves most of it.
Speed
BC moves fast. A weekly session that stays slightly ahead of class keeps students from falling behind.
What a typical session looks like
- First 5 min
Check in on class: what was taught this week, what is due, and when the next test is.
- Main block
Work through the topic that matters most right now, using your actual homework or class problems.
- Practice
Exam style questions on the same topic, scored the way AP readers score them.
- Last 5 min
A short plan for the week, and the topic for this week's worksheet.
- After
Our support team sends the worksheet, marks it, and returns a written score report and a retest on the weak spots. Parents get a copy.
